Natural Cures and Herbal Remedies
There are many conditions that have no cure, and this leaves people
struggling to find a way to cope. Though there is some success in
treating cancer, no cure has been found that works, and there is no
guarantee that it won’t come back. Those who suffer with chronic
conditions like orthostatic intolerance or Crohn’s disease must live
with their chronic conditions until the day they die, or at least
until a cure can be found. Until then, many patients look for
alternatives to medications that might not be working for them. Some
like to try herbal remedies, but this is something that should be done
with extreme caution.
The problem with herbal remedies is that they are not regulated like
prescription and over-the-counter drugs. They do work for some things,
but they can also be very dangerous. If you are taking a prescription
for something, you should never ingest any sort of herb unless you
have talked to your doctor first. The word natural might appear on the
label, but natural does not mean safe, even if that would appear to be
what the manufacturer might want to you to believe. Some natural herbs
will react badly with some prescription drugs. Your doctor can tell
you if something is safe enough for you to try, or if you should skip
it and opt for something else.
Even though the word natural is a tricky word when read on a label,
there are many who want to use herbal remedies instead of medications.
There are many medications with horrible side-effects, so this is
entirely understandable. When you are dealing with a chronic
condition, or something that is threatening your life, you should
never just drop your doctor, especially if you want to stop taking
prescription drugs. You need your doctor more than ever if you are
trying something that might be considered experimental. Your doctor
might not like what you are doing, and they may send you to see
someone else, but most of them would rather see you though then to
leave you to your own devices.
Use common sense when you are reading about herbs for natural cures and
remedies. There are some great natural cure stories online from those
who say these herbal remedies have helped them with whatever it is
they are suffering from. What you don’t know is that some of these
testimonials are planted by the manufacturer. You may not be able to
tell the difference. Instead, you should do research about whatever
herbal remedies you want to try, what you can expect, and what might
happen in regards to your other medications and medical treatments.
You may feel frustrated, but you have to keep open lines of
communication with your doctor, and know exactly what you are taking
before you take it.
